Rank tracking

An SEO rank tracker that checks every keyword on Google each week

Every keyword the agent writes for is checked on Google once a week, through the top 100 results, with how far it moved and which sites rank above you. Connect Search Console when you want to, and your own clicks and impressions sit beside each rank.

Weekly rank tracking

A rank that says what it is, even when there is no number

A blank cell could mean three different things, so the screen never shows one. A keyword we checked and did not find says “Not in top 100”, because that is a measurement. One we have not checked yet says so, a check that failed says it will be retried next week, and a keyword that fell out of the top 100 shows where it was. Movement is always against the week before.

Against last week.
Up, down, new in the top 100, or dropped out of it, with the places moved.
No silent blanks.
Not checked, checking and failed are each said in words.
Weekly, stated.
The screen says how often it checks, so a week-old number is never read as live.

Rank tracking software, compared

Built to decide what to write, not to watch positions

A daily rank tracker is the right tool for watching many sites move day to day. This one exists for a different job: telling the agent, every week, which articles are working and which keywords to write for next.

Search Console

Your own Google data beside each rank, when you connect it

Rankings come from our weekly check, so the tracker works without Search Console. Connecting it is optional and read-only: each keyword then also shows its clicks and impressions over the last 28 days, and each published article shows its results. We never change your Search Console, and you can disconnect at any time. How we handle your Google data.

Connecting Search Console

  • Read-only. We read the searches and pages Google shows your site for, with their clicks and impressions.

  • Optional. Rankings, research and articles all work without it. It adds your own numbers beside them.

  • Never changed. Nothing is ever written back to your Search Console.

How often are rankings checked?
Once a week, on Google, through the top 100 results, for every keyword you track. Results arrive over a few hours after the check starts. Rankings move every day and we measure weekly, and the screen says so, so a number is never mistaken for a live one.
Why weekly and not daily?
Because the agent decides what to write once a week, and a weekly check is what that decision needs. A daily rank tracker is built for watching positions move; this one is built for knowing, each week, which articles are working and which keywords to write for next. If you need positions every day, a dedicated daily tracker will suit you better.
How many keywords can I track?
Up to 100 on every plan, shared across up to 5 sites. The agent picks targets from its research, and you can add your own or stop tracking any of them.
Which country are rankings checked in?
The market your workspace is set to, one of 212. A workspace measures one market, because two countries averaged into one position describe neither of them.
Do I need Search Console?
No. Rankings come from our own weekly check of Google, so the tracker works without it. Connect Search Console, which is read-only and optional, and each keyword also shows its clicks and impressions from your own data for the last 28 days, and each published article shows its results. You can disconnect it at any time.
What does “Not in top 100” mean?
That we checked and your site was not in the first 100 results. It is a measurement, and it says so. A keyword we have not checked yet says “First check due” or “Checking” instead, and a check that failed says it will be retried next week. The two are never shown as the same blank.
