Get recommended on every AI platform your buyers ask

Engine by engine

The six AI platforms, side by side

How each one is read, how often, from where, and what makes it different to get recommended by. All six are on every plan, and each row opens that engine's own page.

The six AI engines RankHound tracks: how each is collected, how often it runs, and whether it is asked from your market.
ChatGPT tracking

Reads live pages, so changes to yours tend to show here first.

Why six numbers

One prompt, six engines, six different answers

Ask all six the same question and they often disagree: one names you, one cites your page and names a rival, one shows no AI answer at all. That disagreement is the finding, so each engine keeps its own row, its own rate and its own count.

A rate per engine.
Each engine's share of answers that named you, never blended into one score.
The count beside it.
Every rate shows how many answers it rests on, and stays a fraction until there are five.
No single number.
A brand named on nine Perplexity answers in ten and on no ChatGPT answers has a specific problem. An average hides it.

Collection method

Why every answer carries its collection method

A scraped product surface and a model API answer are not the same measurement. One reflects what a person sees in the product, including whatever personalisation and interface changes ship that week; the other reflects what the model returns when asked cleanly. Both are worth knowing and they are not interchangeable, so every answer records how it was obtained rather than asking you to take one blended number on trust.

Search product surface.
ChatGPT and Gemini, read the way a person sees them, from your market.
API with web search.
Claude and Perplexity, asked through each model's API with search switched on. Neither takes a location.
Live SERP.
Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, read from Google's results page itself, from your market.

Why not combine every engine into a single visibility score?
Because the engines retrieve differently and frequently disagree, so an average describes nothing that exists. A brand named by Perplexity on nine answers in ten and by ChatGPT on none has a specific, fixable problem. The average of those two numbers hides it.
Which engine matters most for my brand?
Usually the one where your buyers already are, which is rarely the one with the biggest headline user count. Perplexity cites most heavily so it shows most clearly whether your pages are found, Google AI Overviews reach the largest audience, and Claude skews senior. All six are asked on every plan, so you can see where you are least often recommended before deciding where to work first.
How often is each engine checked?
Five engines run six days a week, Monday to Saturday. Claude runs twice, on Tuesdays and Fridays, because each Claude answer costs several times what the others do. Every rate shows how many answers it rests on, so the smaller Claude sample is never hidden.
Does the market I choose apply to every engine?
No. ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode are asked from the market your workspace measures. Claude and Perplexity are reached through APIs with no location setting, so they answer the same everywhere, and the Overview says so beside its engine cards.
Does RankHound cover Copilot, Grok, Meta AI or DeepSeek?
Not yet. We cover six engines today: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, each collected the way a buyer sees it and reported separately. Microsoft Copilot, Grok, Meta AI and DeepSeek are not covered, and nothing on this site reports a number for them.

Find the engine to get recommended by first

Add your brand, your competitors and the prompts your buyers type. Each engine reports on its own card, with the count behind every rate, so the engine that recommends rivals most often is plain to see, and so is whether a change moved it.

On every plan

  • Every answer stored in full, with its citations.
  • Every rate shown with the number of checks behind it.
  • Cited-but-not-named reported as its own state.
